A Powerful Promise for the Broken Hearted

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18
I love that God makes a point to tell us in Psalm 34 that He is CLOSE to the broken-hearted. He didn’t have to tell us that. The Word already tells us that God is “with us.”
But God knows that when we’re hurting, we need a little extra reassurance. So if you’re hurting today, be assured that GOD IS CLOSE TO YOU.
Ponder that for a moment. It’s a really powerful promise, if you stop to think about it. The God of the universe standing with you in your pain, listening, and offering a shoulder to lean on. He’s close, like an cherished friend is close.
What a powerful promise to cling to when we’re anxious and afraid, and our heart is heavy. Not only is he close, he’s also promised to rescue us!
Is your heart broken?
Remember, God is close beside you. Lean on him in prayer for all your needs. Talk to him about the pain you’ve experienced, and maybe are still experiencing. He loves you, and has promised to rescue those whose spirits are crushed.

Father, thank you for being close beside me right now. Help me to wait patiently, while you pick up the pieces of my heart, and make me whole. You are my healer, my comforter, and my rescuer. In you I place my trust. Amen

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and heal your heart from any wounds, past or present.

  1. This is so very true. Coming from an abusive and broken marriage I can see how very much he was walking beside me every step. Thank you for the reminder of His love and how he carries us especially when we can not seem to feel Him at that particular moment. HE IS ALWAYS THERE!
