How do you survive the lockdown blues? Me, I dance with my dogs!
Enjoy this improvised canine freestyle dance video to the song “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” I put it together with my incredibly sweet and talented standard poodle today, in an effort to ward off the lockdown blues. I hope it will lift your spirits and brighten your day.
Wishing you comfort and joy! Leila and Solo the dog xx

My adorable poodle is giving me the “Pleeease give me some of your food” look . . . and of course, I will oblige.
Dogs, with their loving expressions and gentle nature can make almost anyone’s heart melt. Even the hardest heart is swayed by their kind nature. What if we took a hint from our furry friends and tried a little bit harder to be gentle and kind?
Acts of kindness, in word and deed are extremely positive and powerful. But we will only ever see the power revealed when we can say— “Kindness begins with me.”
Each day they offer incredible wisdom and inspirational life lessons, of which I am truly grateful. This poem below, by an unknown author, beautifully captures many of the amazing life lessons learned from our beloved dogs. Whoever wrote it must have had a very special relationship with their dog!
In a world that often seems cold and unkind, I pray this simple poem will help us refocus on some of the more important and simpler things in life.
Have hard times come your way? Is your heart heavy with care?
Jesus is saying to you, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world! (John 16:33). These are the precious words of our beloved Savior, who died for our sins, rose from the dead, and lives forever to intercede with God on our behalf! (Hebrews 7:25).
That’s the good news we cling to as children of God. Jesus has overcome all the works of the enemy and he is sitting at the right hand of the Father pleading our case! We have the most powerful advocate and faithful friend we could ever hope for. So take heart, dear friend! Don’t lower your gaze when hard times come. Instead, look up! Take heart, trust in God’s goodness and love (Read 23 verses about God’s goodness), and consider troubles as an opportunity for great joy! God is always up to something good!
