Beautiful Memorial Day Quote [Our Cheer Goes Back to Them …]

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day!

“Our cheer goes back to them, the valiant dead! Laurels and roses on their graves to-day, lilies and laurels over them we lay, and violets o’er each unforgotten head.” —Richard Hovey

The way we live, each day, is how we honor their memory and offer them our unending cheers!

Enjoy the day. Be blessed!

Happiness Tip: Count Your Blessings Not Your Sorrows

Secret to happiness

Happiness Tip: Count your blessings not your sorrows

As the leaves change color, I’m getting excited for one of my favorite upcoming holiday celebrations– Thanksgiving! Not so much because of the food and fellowship, (although those are awesome!), but because of the focus on gratitude. There’s something about being thankful and counting my blessings that makes me happy. Not just smiley happy, but really happy, deep inside. Praying you’ll experience greater joy today as you lift your heart to God.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 107:1).

Today is a new day filled with things to be thankful for. But if you’re feeling a tad blue, you may be tempted to go through your day and count your sorrows, and forget to count your blessings. Been there, done that, as I’m sure we all have. The result is often a troubled heart. Thankfully, there’s an awesome antidote to chase away the blues— counting our blessings.

How to Enjoy the Journey, Even When Life Hurts [The Key Lies in this Verse]

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”— Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Enjoy the Journey . . .

We’ve heard it said.

We’ve seen it written on cards or on social media.

We’ve had friends tell us, “Just relax, enjoy the journey.”

So, what’s the key to finding joy in life’s journey, especially when times are tough?

There’s so much wisdom out there to help us answer this question. But for me, the only wisdom I have found truly helpful comes from Jeremiah 29:11 . . .

A Beautiful Pet Blessing

Our pets depend on us for all their needs, and when they become ill, it can become all-consuming. Thankfully we can turn to God for help.

Just last week I was asking God to heal my precious doggie. The vet didn’t know what was wrong with him. I continued to pray and trust God. Yesterday, I saw signs of improvement— praise the Lord!

Sometimes the help comes right away, other times we wait. There are also times healing happens across rainbows bridge. Either way, prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have to help us get through tough times. It’s our life line to God. For pet owners, prayer is a huge comfort because we know that God cares for our pets and understands how important they are to us.

Join with me in praying for our beloved pets. . .

Married, a mother of two children, I finally felt we were ready for a family pet. My husband conceded (well, I didn’t ask him. Oops!). And so, we brought home a cuddly Labrador retriever puppy! Goldy was our sunshine during rainy days, and the stable, strong force that made us all feel continually protected and loved. I stand in awe of all the wonderful things she taught me.
