Happiness Tip: Count your blessings not your sorrows

As the leaves change color, I’m getting excited for one of my favorite upcoming holiday celebrations– Thanksgiving! Not so much because of the food and fellowship, (although those are awesome!), but because of the focus on gratitude. There’s something about being thankful and counting my blessings that makes me happy. Not just smiley happy, but really happy, deep inside. Praying you’ll experience greater joy today as you lift your heart to God.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 107:1).

Today is a new day filled with things to be thankful for. But if you’re feeling a tad blue, you may be tempted to go through your day and count your sorrows, and forget to count your blessings. Been there, done that, as I’m sure we all have. The result is often a troubled heart. Thankfully, there’s an awesome antidote to chase away the blues— counting our blessings.

The weather forecast says it’s all sun today! So happy!

We all love sunny days, but sometimes the shadows from the past keep our hearts covered in gloom, and we waste a day in our life, that could have otherwise been beautiful.

Cursing Into Blessing

Some days, we just get down on ourselves. Painful memories, regrets, festering wounds, images of suffering flash across our screen and newsfeed, loved ones call with tears, our bodies ache, our mind is weary. . .

We cry out to God for relief.

We ask God for mercy.

We wait, we hope…
