Watching Leaves Falling

Sometimes, we just need to pause and reflect on all that’s going on around us.

This weekend, while watching the leaves falling, I sensed God wanting to speak to my heart. So many thoughts came to mind, about how life is filled with change, about how difficult it can be to let go of past hurt, and yet how freeing it is when we truly surrender our pain to God, and cast all our anxiety on him.

Dear friend, God wants you to experience true joy! The kind of that comes from surrendering to his will, and trusting him with your whole heart . . . through every season. Today, choose to let go of the things that are weighing you down. It’s in the letting go that we make room for something new.

Take a moment sometime today to sit and watch the leaves. Let God speak to you through creation– “Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you” (1 Peter 5:7 TLB).

Father, thank you for the colorful leaves, and all that you are speaking to me through them. Help me to let go of anything that’s weighing me down, and trust your plan. Fill me with your peace today! Amen
