Christmas Is Not Over

Christmas is not over. It lives forever in my heart!

— Leila Grandemange

It’s been 4 days since Christmas, and I’m already feeling a bit sad at the thought of taking down the decorations and lights, and putting away our beautiful Christmas tree.

If only Christmas could last a bit longer . . .

Maybe it can!

Deep inside I know that the wonder and joy of Christmas doesn’t have to end December 26th. I can carry it with me all through the year . . . and you can too!

Christmas isn’t just glitter and lights, family gatherings, presents, and good cheer. Christmas is Jesus Christ. When we treasure Christ in our heart, by loving him and talking to him daily, we can experience his comforting presence moment by moment, 365 days a year.

Jesus is our closest friend. And he’s not about to abandon us after the holidays. Now it’s up to us not to abandon him. We’ve all got to go back to work and deal with the daily grind after the holidays. But let’s never forget that we were created to live in constant communion with Christ. It’s this constant communion that allows us to experience the wonder, majesty, and mystery of God every single day, and keep Christmas in our heart.

Next week the kids will head back to work and school, and the tree will come down. I have no idea what lies ahead in 2020, but I’m incredibly comforted that I can carry Christmas in my heart and experience the presence of Christ each day! Jesus said . . .

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

No, Christmas is not over. It lives forever in my heart!

Father, thank you for the joy and wonder of Christmas. Please help me keep Christmas in my heart as I look forward to the coming year. Help me to be loving, patient, kind, and always thankful. Mostly, help me keep my eyes on you every step of the way, as I walk into 2020. Be my strength, my peace, and my lasting joy! Amen.

Happy New Year!

Pawz & Pray Book Review

“Leila’s book has been a true inspiration to me. It makes you focus on what’s really important in life. The author gives us great examples on how we can have a closer walk with God by following the lead that our pets give us in their everyday life. “Pawz & Pray” encourages us to put our worry and anxiety aside and take time to enjoy the things God has put right in front of us. This book has touched my heart in an indescribable way. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves animals and wants to have a closer connection to our Heavenly Father.”

  1. I love how we’re all so different! 🙂

You are sad to put away the decorations, and I am bargaining with my kids by December 26th as to when they’ll let me pack it all away. They say I have to wait until New Years.

Personally, my favorite part of Christmas is the anticipation and pre-Christmas activities. So, when Christmas is done, I can’t wait to put away anything Christmas-y and start fresh with a new year.
