What do you do when you’re afraid?
When I was a child, if I was ever afraid at night, I would turn on the light. This went on for years . . .
Imagine a fearful child laying in bed and saying, “Mommy, please turn on the light, I’m scared.” The mother gives her child a warm hug and walks to the light switch to turn it on. Then one day, Jesus stepped in and said,
“Dear Child, I am your light! Why should you be afraid?”
Once I received Jesus as My Savior, I discovered that there was a powerful bright light within me. Jesus says, “I am the light of the world!” (John 8:12).
Dear friend, have you ever been afraid? Call out to your Heavenly Father. His light dispels our darkness! May the light of God’s presence fill your heart and home. Receive His peace. Declare with me—
“When I am afraid, I will trust in you!” (Psalm 56:3).
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble? —Psalm 27:1
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.—John 14:27
