The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

All too often we depend on our circumstances to make us happy. But joy based on circumstances alone is like being on a roller coaster ride…. one day UP, one day DOWN.

However JOY based on the LORD ( a confident trust in His promises ) is a firm foundation for our lives. While we travel life’s journey (although we often hurt), we remain stable and sense a deep joy and inner peace.

Dear friend, if you’re hurting, know that God sees your pain, has compassion, and dearly loves you. Take time each day to talk to Him and meditate on His Word. His Word is food for the soul, and will give you the strength you need to press on. May the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Heavenly Father, let your joy be my strength today. Let your peace guard my heart. Let your hope calm my mind. Today, I place my trust in you, and choose joy. In Jesus name, Amen
