A few days ago, I was walking downtown and saw this old iron gate, shown in the photo. I was drawn to it. I took this photo and thought ... It's broken, It's off balance, and yet it's so beautiful! Somehow it reminds me of humanity.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."—Ecclesiastes 3:11 "He has made everything beautiful in its time . . ."—Ecclesiastes 3:11 Painting pottery with my sunshine (aka my precious daughter) was the highlight of my week! The process of creating something beautiful was really eye opening, and exciting. All sorts of bare pottery lined the walls . . .
Today, I ventured back to the 1860's with my family . . . We arrived at the historic Appomattox Court House of Virginia, the site that marked the beginning of peace and reunion, after the nation's largest war. Everything was made to look like back in the day. Even the people working dressed the part and told stories to those visiting. As we walked the streets of the reconstructed town, a strange feeling came over me . . .
