A Beautiful Thanksgiving Blessing [by Ralph Waldo Emerson]

Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends! Join with me in giving God thanks by meditating on this beautiful Thanksgiving prayer/poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

We Thank Thee

by: Ralph Waldo Emerson

For flowers that bloom about our feet,
Father, we thank Thee.
For tender grass so fresh, so sweet,
Father, we thank Thee.
For the song of bird and hum of bee,
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee. Continue reading “A Beautiful Thanksgiving Blessing [by Ralph Waldo Emerson]”

What’s the Most Important Thing to do Today?

Praise the Lord image

Is your “to do list” packed for the day? Mine is, and several items are already screaming and scrambling for first place. I’m certain many of you can relate.

Let’s take a deep breath before we begin the day and tell God how awesome He is! He should be the most important focus of our day, from which everything else finds its meaning. For in Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).

What’s the most important thing to do today? Praise the Lord! This is why we were created. Let’s acknowledge Him in all we do, thank Him, and delight in Him, for He is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise.

PRAISE THE LORD, oh my soul, with my whole heart I will praise your holy name!

Psalm 103

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.

Live Like it’s Spring

Be Encouraged 🧡

It’s a rainy day and the sky is grey . . .

Despite the forecast, I can live like it’s Spring because Jesus is in my heart. Weekend blessings dear friends. May the joy of the Lord be your strength, wherever you are in the world, and whatever your forecast!

“…Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Without the Shedding of Blood

“And without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” Hebrews 9:22b

The journey of life is not always easy. Of all the things I’m thankful for, the greatest is the cross of Christ! There I can exchange my burdens for peace and rest. If you’re feeling weighed down by sorrow or sin today, know that you can come to the cross and lay your burdens down . . .

Cross Thoughts

EC6A4D17-30E7-481B-80DC-3470BEE7E8BE

When I think about the cross of Christ so many emotions come to mind. The foremost being gratefulness…

Jesus washed away my sins, gave me a fresh start, accepted me, and calls me beautiful and eternally loved! Nothing in this life can compare to these priceless gifts. And no heartache can rob me of the joy of having them. Meditating on all Christ has done for me calms my soul and reminds me of what is truly important in life–my relationship with God.

When we begin our day with a grateful heart we won’t find room to complain. Thankfulness and negativity cannot co-exist. Negativity drains our energy. Reject it in all its forms and renew your mind with the life giving words of Christ. Embrace all that is good, lovely, and pure, and all that Christ accomplished at the cross. Focus on these things and the peace of God will be with you.

Praying for a grateful heart 💜

Happiness Tips for Troubled Hearts [#2]

encouraging thoughts

Are you feeling anxious, discouraged, or lonely?

A troubled heart is hard to bear, and often feels like a weight carried around deep within the spirit.

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”— Proverbs 12:25

For those experiencing a heavy heart today, may I offer a few kind words to cheer you up?

Be encouraged! With God, there is always hope for better days. And the best part is that you don’t have to wait to experience inner peace and true happiness. God offers us His joy and peace moment by moment, and there’s no better time than this present moment to experience it. I’ll be sharing a few happiness tips in the coming weeks that have helped me along life’s journey during times of need.

Happiness Tip for troubled hearts #2: Don’t Compare

Don’t compare yourself to others. We are all like snowflakes, each one different in our own beautiful way. God’s Words tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! Accepting this truth, others, and ourselves, will help us to experience true happiness!
