Peace Talks [2]

Blessed are the peacemakers! — Jesus (Matthew 5:9)

Unity cannot be achieved by force, it can only be achieved by forgiveness. Forgive, let go, look forward with hope!

Prayer matters . . .

” I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” –1Timothy 2:1-2

Expect Good Things! [Happiness Tip 9]

Expect good things!

Hope is the confident expectation of good things from God!

Why is it that we so often wake up anxious, expecting the worst things to happen?

Okay, so bad things may happen. We live in a fallen messed up world! But why wake up each day expecting them? I’m sure there are many reasons . . . one reason may be because life keeps dealing a bad hand and we end up thinking “this is how it’s always going to be.” I get that. I’ve been there. But over time I’ve learned that staying in this mindset only serves to hurt me.

Keep Your Eyes on the Road Ahead [Happiness Tip #8]

Happiness Tip

The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need tomorrow.” – Robert Tew

Happiness tip #8: Keep your eyes on the road ahead

Keep your eyes on the road ahead. Stop looking back! Trust that your struggles (past or present) have purpose, and that they are developing in you great strength for tomorrow. So let go of past disappointments and hurts and look ahead to all the wondrous possibilities that lay in store. Though you cannot know what the future holds, you can trust the One who holds the future. Fear not. Whether God leads into a valley or a mountain top, He promises to be with us and to guide us. And the best part is that every trial we’ve faced has prepared us for what lies ahead. So keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and look ahead with joyful hope and confidence. Jesus is our faithful champion who initiates and perfects our faith as we walk with Him! Look ahead . . .

Kindness is Like Snow

Kindness is like snow ...

“Kindness is like snow—it beautifies everything it covers.” —Kahlil Gibran

Kindness beautifies…

It turns frowns to smiles, uplifts the weary soul, and spreads rays of healing light everywhere it goes. Like snow, it also purifies, by covering the pain of our past with a glistening white blanket of love!

In a world so desperate for peace, acts of kindness have the power and potential to bridge every divide and heal every heart. It truly beautifies the world. Mark Twain wrote, “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” God’s Word also tells us that practical acts of love are more than words . . . Loved With An Everlasting Love

I have loved you with an everlasting love

I have loved you with an everlasting love.—Jeremiah 31:3

Do you ever doubt God’s love for you?
While reading this verse my eye was drawn to the word “everlasting.” Everlasting means enduring through all time, or eternal. God loves His children with this kind of love. That means there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop His love. When we are faithless, He remains faithful. When the world turns its back on us, He draws even closer to us. When we fall, He picks us up.  Continue reading “Loved With An Everlasting Love”
