Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends! Join with me in giving God thanks by meditating on this beautiful Thanksgiving prayer/poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
We Thank Thee
by: Ralph Waldo Emerson
For flowers that bloom about our feet,
Father, we thank Thee.
For tender grass so fresh, so sweet,
Father, we thank Thee.
For the song of bird and hum of bee,
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee. Continue reading “A Beautiful Thanksgiving Blessing [by Ralph Waldo Emerson]”
Happy Mother’s Day!
Today I wrote a Mother’s Day Prayer with my mom in mind, but also to share with mothers everywhere. Mom, if you’re reading this, after the prayer is also a special image and quote written just for you! 💕
Thank you for my beautiful mom, who has loved and cared for me all my life with selfless abandon and unconditional love. On this important day (“Mother’s Day”) I specially want to lift her up, as well as all mothers around the world, and thank you for the unique role they play in the lives of their children.
Thank you for the encouragement, wisdom, and counsel they offer us, and the many sacrifices they willingly make for us. Thank you for their sweet smile, and for every hug and kiss and helping hand!
Today, I ask a special blessing on my mom, and on all the mothers throughout the world, that they would know how much they are loved and appreciated. Continue to bless them each and every day with Godly wisdom, strength, peace, and courage, and with the joy of your constant presence! Multiply your grace to them as they strive to carry out their many responsibilities and roles. And in all they do, help them never to forget to care for themselves. For they are deeply cherished and loved!
I pray this in Jesus name,

Happy Easter, hallelujah He is risen!
Today, I am reminded once again that because of Christ, my eternity is secure in heaven. Not because of anything good I’ve done, but because of everything Christ did for me at the cross . . .
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. – John 11:25

At Easter time the sign of the cross has more relevance than ever.
I wear a cross on a chain around my neck and rarely ever take it off. I don’t attach any ‘magical’ significance to it, but for me it is simply a reminder of what Jesus did for us. Continue reading “Why I Wear a Cross [by Dennis Homes]”
Enjoy the real story of St. Patrick . . .
A story of forgiveness, faith, and courage! It’s actually way more interesting and then the myths. Enjoy this article about St. Patrick by Philip Freeman, Ph.D. in Classic and Celtic Studies at Harvard University.

“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone but in every leaf of springtime.” —Martin Luther
Dear friend, when you’re weary from lingering pain, whether emotional or physical, recall to mind the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” ( John 16:33). Jesus overcame evil through the resurrection from the dead. Through faith in Him we can find the power to overcome our trials. In Christ we have hope! When you think you can’t get through your day, just remember- Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for you. Pour out your heart to Him. You can do all things through Christ!
