It’s the simple things that will save our nation, like prayer, humility, forgiving one another, gratitude, grace, kindness, and reverence and love for God. This quote by President Abraham Lincoln reminds us of that. It’s part of a proclamation he made to the nation, asking everyone to humble ourselves, confess our national sins, and pray for clemency and forgiveness. I believe his proclamation is still relevant today.

There is power in love. . .
Bishop Michael Curry gave an inspiring sermon at the royal wedding in St. George’s Chapel on May 19, 2018. No doubt, it’s a sermon that will be remembered for years to come. Its topic, the power of love! The perfect theme for a wedding, and a much-needed message for our country, and the world.
Curry began his sermon during the wedding by quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words:
“We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we do that, we will make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.”
“Look around and be distressed, look within and be depressed, look to Jesus and be at rest.” ~ Corrie ten Boom
United in thought and prayer for the families of the victims in the Las Vegas shooting.
To the brave men and women who intervened to help those in need—thank you! Because of people like you, we are once again reminded that we live in a great nation filled with amazing, courageous, faith-filled people. God bless you as you help, and continue to help those in need.
Excerpt from an article by Dan Stefano describing the acts of heroism in the immediate aftermath (interview with NBC):
“It was everywhere. Thank God it was a country concert. You saw a lot of ex-military jumping into gear. I saw guys plugging bullet holes with their fingers. I saw police officers, while everyone else was crouching, police officers standing up as targets, just trying to direct people to tell them where to go. The amount of bravery I saw, words can’t describe what it was like.”

By God’s grace, I know it’s possible. Here are 12 quotes on unity to encourage us.
