Dog Mom Reflections on the Power of Kindness

Look at that sweet face!

My adorable poodle is giving me the “Pleeease give me some of your food” look . . . and of course, I will oblige.

Dogs, with their loving expressions and gentle nature can make almost anyone’s heart melt. Even the hardest heart is swayed by their kind nature. What if we took a hint from our furry friends and tried a little bit harder to be gentle and kind?

Acts of kindness, in word and deed are extremely positive and powerful. But we will only ever see the power revealed when we can say— “Kindness begins with me.”

Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.

Albert Schweitzer

Ancient Proverb

Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

Election Week [Short Uplifting Thoughts]

“Dogs need to sniff the ground; it’s how they keep abreast of current events. The ground is a big giant newspaper, containing all kinds of late-breaking dog news items, which, if they are especially urgent, are often continued in the next yard.” —Dave Barry

It’s election week! For some, it’s a week of excitement. For others, it’s a week filled with anxiety. If you’re one of those who is struggling with anxiety, I’d like to offer a bit of inspiration learned from my dogs.

Personally, I think humans are a lot like them. We too are constantly sniffing around, being lead by the things that capture our senses. When I am Afraid Thoughts

Isn’t it awesome how our dogs trust us! They’d follow us to the moon and back if only to be by our side! Even when they’re afraid of some weird noise or scary person, they look to us for comfort.

In the same way, we can look to God for comfort during those scary moments in life and trust that he will help us. Say this verse as a prayer to God each time your heart is racing—
