Making lists can be very useful, but when anxious thoughts greet us with the sunrise, nag at us all day, and accompany us to bed, something is out of balance. Recently I became so overwhelmed with my “to do” list all I could do was cry. Yet while the storm was raging within, my dog lay calmly by my side without a care in the world. She knew where to turn for all her needs.

My husband conceded (well, I didn’t ask him. Oops!). And so, we brought home a cuddly Labrador retriever puppy! Goldy was our sunshine during rainy days, and the stable, strong force that made us all feel continually protected and loved. I stand in awe of all the wonderful things she taught me.
