The Greatest Motivator to Forgive!

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is not always easy to extend, especially when the wounds we’ve experienced run deep into the soul. That said, a little motivation and guidance wouldn’t hurt!

I’ve found that the greatest motivator to forgive comes straight from the cross where Jesus hung, taking on the sins of the world. Recalling how much we’ve been forgiven (through Christ) is humbling. Each day we mess up, in thought or deed. No one is perfect. And yet God loves us unconditionally, despite our failures and flaws.

Recognizing how great God’s love is for us, and how merciful He is, can give us the courage to do what we never thought possible, that is to forgive, and to show kindness and compassion from a genuine heart of love.

Forgiveness frees us to be truly happy again. It’s actually the best choice you can make for yourself, for your mind, and your body. And there’s no better day than today to choose to forgive.
