Hope is the confident expectation of good things from God!
Why is it that we so often wake up anxious, expecting the worst things to happen?
Okay, so bad things may happen. We live in a fallen messed up world! But why wake up each day expecting them? I’m sure there are many reasons . . . one reason may be because life keeps dealing a bad hand and we end up thinking “this is how it’s always going to be.” I get that. I’ve been there. But over time I’ve learned that staying in this mindset only serves to hurt me.
So if given the choice, to hope or to hurt, what would you choose?
Thanks be to God, I’m learning to choose hope . . . and hopeful thoughts always make me feel better. That said, I’d like to share my happiness tip #9 with you today . . .
Happiness tip #9: Expect Good Things
Expect good things from God! Live each day with hope in your heart focusing on what you have (count your blessings), not on what you don’t have. Trust in the Lord, placing your confidence fully in His promises with joyful expectation, and your heart will overflow with a peace and joy that you never thought possible! Hope is beautiful, because God is beautiful, and beautiful, hopeful, happy thoughts fill our innermost being when we place our trust in Him and expect good things. That said, we must give up our desire to define what is good for us and leave that for God to decide. Our job is simply to hope . . . better said, to hope in God’s goodness and love for us and simply to count our blessings while we wait.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” —James 1:17
“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. -Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” —Romans 15:13
Happy Healing Hugs!
