Happiness Tips for Troubled Hearts #4 [Finding Satisfaction in God Alone]

God satisfies our needs

Happiness Tip for Troubles Hearts #4: Find Satisfaction in God. Seek Him first above all else, and He will meet your needs, including your need for joy!

The longing to be filled and satisfied with good things in life and extract joy from those things is common to us all. Yet life is tough, and very often those “things” do not fully satisfy, or if they do, it’s only for a season. And we are left wanting, as if drinking water and yet never feeling quenched. If you find yourself lacking deep within your soul and yearning for more, yet unsure what that “more” is, please be encouraged and possibly challenged by these words I sensed God speaking to my heart while reading Psalm 81.

Dear Child, I am the Lord your God, your strength! Turn away from idols and worship Me alone. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it, and satisfy you with honey.

“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”—John 4:14

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him (Romans 15:13).

Hope be with you!
