You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.—Psalm 16:11
It’s a rather bold statement to make, claiming to have “the key” to a happy new year. But as I turn the page on 2017, I feel a certain boldness rise within me . . .
This boldness did not result from any sort of incredible achievements, pride, or having arrived at some sort of “knowing,” rather it’s a boldness birthed in brokenness.
Over the past year (many years actually), God has been chiseling away at my “flesh”, breaking me through tests and trials, in order to remake me. During this painful process, I often found myself discouraged. I longed for happiness. Not the kind of happiness that is dependent on favorable circumstances, but the kind of happiness that remains stable and strong despite the tests and trials of life. I’d actually compare this type of happiness more to an inner peace and joy.
Would you like to experience inner peace and joy in 2018?
Hear the words God spoke to my heart in my time of need, inspired from Psalm 16:11:
Dear Child, do not fear the future. For I will make known to you the path of life; in My presence is fullness if joy; in My right hand are pleasures forever. Stay close. With Me by your side, there is always hope!
Dear friend, despite difficult circumstances that may loom ahead in the coming year, it is possible to experience fullness of joy. This has been my experience, and I can’t help but proclaim in the light what God has so graciously shown me in the dark. So stay close to God, dear friend. For true happiness is found in none other than Christ—”in His presence is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11).
Abiding in God’s presence is the key to happiness and everlasting joy!
As we remain in Christ (the True Vine), by loving God and each other, we open our heart and mind to experience “fullness of joy!’
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing … “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” —Jesus (John 15: 5, 9-12)
Wishing you the warmest and happiest New Year filled with joy in God’s presence!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.
Hope be with you!
