“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” ~2 Corinthians 5:7
What is faith?
When my daughter sent me this breathtaking photo of her hiking in a desert-like park, the verse from 2 Corinthians 5:7 immediately came to mind—”We walk by faith, not by sight.” So I added the words to her photo and got inspired to write this little blog post about faith. Here are my thoughts . . .
What is Faith?
I’ve found that faith is walking, and walking, and walking, despite how I feel.
Faith is trusting that even though I can’t see my next step, that God has gone before me, that He’s behind me, and that’s He right beside me.
Faith is believing that every pain I’ve ever experienced has a purpose.
Faith is the guiding light that brings me through the storm.
Faith is choosing to dwell on everything good, lovely, and pure.
Faith is the sun that shines within my heart, even on rainy days.
Faith is something I can’t explain, but that I know God planted in my heart . . .
and like a seed, it grows as I water it with God’s Holy Word and bask in the warmth of His love.
Faith is my life, my breath, my hope . . . it’s what keeps me moving forward with eternity in my heart!
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” ~ Hebrews 11:1
