Have you ever felt an ache in your heart. . .
a longing to succeed. . .
a dream that burns within you that pushes you relentlessly towards your goals?
The desire to succeed . . .we’ve all felt that ache in our heart at some point in our lives.
But how do we succeed in life, when we’re almost guaranteed that wolves will come knocking at our door?
Whether you’re yearning to succeed at work, at home (as a parent), or at play (in your hobbies), I’m almost certain you’ve asked yourself,
- What’s the key to success?
- How can I make my dream come true?
- How can I plan ahead to ensure that my dreams won’t crumble when adversity strikes?
And adversity will strike my friends, Jesus forewarned us saying, “In this world you will have trouble…” (John 16:33 NIV)
I found a little wisdom in a Fairy Tale to help us answer those questions. Watch the beloved story of the The Three Little Pigs, and see if it speaks to you. Then scroll down and see my take away from the story . . .
So what’s the key to success?
Here’s my “take away” from the story . . .
Spiritually speaking, after watching this, I can’t help but feel a nudge from heaven saying—
Be wise! Build your hopes and dreams on the Truth from God’s Word—our spiritual house of bricks!
Dear friend, whatever your dreams of success may be, adversity will come knocking at your door. Even if you don’t open, adversity will keep huffing and puffing and try to wear you down. Will you stand firm?
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist . . .” —Ephesians 6:14
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”—1 Peter 5:8
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” —Matthew 7:24-27 NIV
